Alchemical Toil Podcast
Conversations at the intersection of psyche, body, myth, and the unconscious.
Launching November 2026
Alchemical Toil is a podcast exploring the inner life through depth psychology, Jungian and post-Jungian thought, psychoanalysis, mythology, embodiment, imagination, and the many ways psyche makes itself known.
Hosted by psychotherapist Alexis Durgee, the podcast brings together conversations with analysts, psychologists, scholars, authors, artists, and thinkers whose work asks us to look beneath the surface of human experience. The podcast explores the ideas, images, stories, symptoms, dreams, and experiences that shape our relationship with ourselves and the world around us.

About the Host
Alexis Durgee
Psychotherapist, M.S., LMHC, PhD(c)
Alexis Durgee is a licensed psychotherapist, doctoral candidate in clinical psychology with an emphasis in depth psychology, and the creator behind Alchemical Toil.
Her work lives at the intersection of psyche and soma.
Grounded in psychoanalytic, psychodynamic, Jungian and post-Jungian traditions, Alexis is particularly interested in the places where conventional psychological language begins to reach its limits—where dreams, images, metaphor, myth, bodily experience, imagination, and the unconscious begin to speak.
Her doctoral research has explored the trauma of the feminine, images of the repressed soul in dreams, the transformative nature of the imaginal, trauma and inner self-care systems, religious-cult trauma, complexity, and archetypal ways of seeing.
Alchemical Toil extends that inquiry beyond the consulting room.
Through conversations with people working at the edges of psychology, scholarship, mythology, embodiment, creativity, and culture, Alexis invites listeners into an ongoing exploration of psyche—not as something to master, but as something with which we are continually learning to enter into relationship.
