Anima : An Anatomy of a Personified Notion

James Hillman on the Anima as a Personified Notion. We have come a bit further now, or are on our way—I believe—but this book lays out Hillman’s approach to anima and anima mundi from the perspective of archetypal psychology.

“...if a man does not know what a thing ‘is,’ it is at least an increase in knowledge if he knows what it is ‘not’ (apophasis)” C. G. Jung, the last phrase of Aion

A calling out of Hillman and Jung’s shadow will be a part of my dissertation involving this notion in hopes of continuing the tradition of work with Anima, but on the more opaque level, the words written here were themselves an admirable act of differentiation and a-perception/appreciation of her.
